Ep 8: Learning Antiracism and Cultural Literacy with Leroy Hibbert

"What do you do with the colour that you actually see?"

Leroy Hibbert

Leroy Hibbert

Leroy is an antiracism and cultural literacy educator  based in London, Ontario, Canada. He joins us on this episode of The  Xenolearn Podcast to discuss his work addressing racial inequalities,  challenging stereotypes, and teaching cross-cultural understanding. With  compassion and kindness, Leroy explains that it is ok to recognize  physical differences, including skin colour. But it is what we do when  we see those differences that determines the world we live in. You’ll  want to listen to this episode twice because Leroy shares so many  valuable lessons about antiracism, learning from our mistakes, and  appreciating human differences.

Born in Toronto Ontario, Canada, he moved to London, Ontario, when he was 4 years old. Growing up in a community that at the time was not as racially diverse as it is now was enlightening, and interesting. This knowledge as well as other encounters lead him on a quest to build racial and cultural bridges that seeks to foster understanding.
